In February 2024, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) approved the newest California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs), emphasizing high-impact, evidence-based family engagement practices.
Key Updates Include:

Two-way communication between teachers and families

Listening to and learning from parents

Building partnerships to support student success

The updated CSTPs will affect:

All induction programs by 2025–2026
-
Preliminary teacher preparation programs (multiple/single-subject credentials, special education, early childhood, bilingual education)

Educator professional learning, development, and evaluation statewide
